Terms of Service

Last updated: October 27, 2026

Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information.

Acceptance

By using Sidevine you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the service. We may update these terms. If the change is significant, including to payments or dispute resolution, we will post a notice on the site before it takes effect and update the date above. Continuing to use Sidevine after that means you accept the updated terms. You agree to receive notices from us electronically, including on the site and by email.

Age requirement

You must be at least 18 years old to create a Sidevine account or post an event. By signing up, you confirm that you meet this age requirement. Accounts found to belong to users under 18 will be removed.

Events, risk, and liability

Sidevine is a platform that allows users to discover and post information about local events hosted by third parties. Sidevine does not organize, host, sponsor, endorse, or control any event listed on the platform, and we don't verify the accuracy, legality, safety, or fitness for any purpose of event details submitted by users.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Sidevine, its founders, employees, and affiliates are not liable for any injury, loss, damage, dispute, or harm arising from your attendance at, participation in, or reliance on any event or information found through Sidevine, including personal injury, property damage, financial loss, cancellations, inaccuracies, or interactions with other users or event organizers.

By using Sidevine, you agree that your use of the platform and attendance at any event is entirely at your own risk.

Sidevine's total liability to you for any claim is limited to the greater of what you paid Sidevine in the 12 months before the claim or $100. Sidevine is not liable for indirect or consequential damages. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for fraud, gross negligence, or willful misconduct.

Map data, directions, and distances are approximate, so check details with the host before you travel. Sidevine is not for emergencies. Call 911 in an emergency.

Your account

You're responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for any activity that happens under your account.

Hosting an event

If you post an event, you are responsible for it, including permits, licenses, insurance, age limits, safety, and following the law. You must say accurately whether an event is free or paid.

User-generated content

Events, photos, descriptions, and any other content you post are your responsibility. You confirm that the information you post, including addresses, times, prices, and photos, is accurate and that you have the right to share it. You keep ownership of what you post. You give Sidevine a free, worldwide, non-exclusive license to host, store, display, reproduce, resize, and distribute it to run and show Sidevine, including through our service providers. We ask before featuring your event outside the app, such as in our social posts. This license ends when you delete the content, except for copies in backups and copies others have shared.

Prohibited content

Don't post events or content that:

  • Are illegal, fraudulent, or promote illegal activity.
  • Harass, threaten, or discriminate against any individual or group.
  • Contain sexually explicit material, gore, or content harmful to minors.
  • Infringe on someone else's copyright, trademark, or other rights.
  • Are spam, scams, phishing, or misleading advertisements.
  • Impersonate someone else or misrepresent an event you don't have authority to post.
  • Share someone's private information without permission.
  • Promote or sell illegal goods or services.
  • Scrape, automate, or bulk-post on Sidevine, probe or attack its security, or get around its limits.
  • Create extra accounts to avoid a removal or limit.
  • Link to malware or deceptive links.

Moderation and removal

We may remove, hide, or refuse any listing that violates these terms or that we reasonably believe is inaccurate, unsafe, or harmful, with or without notice. Events that receive multiple reports may be auto-hidden pending review. We may also suspend or terminate accounts that repeatedly violate these guidelines. We do not review everything posted, and we may remove content at our discretion. Use the report button if you see something that breaks these rules. If you think we made a mistake, email support@sidevine.com and we will take another look.

Copyright and takedown requests

If you believe content on Sidevine infringes your copyright, send a written notice to support@sidevine.com that includes: your physical or electronic signature, your name, address, and email, a description of the copyrighted work, a description and URL of the content you believe infringes it, a statement that you have a good-faith belief the use isn't authorized, and a statement, under penalty of perjury, that the notice is accurate and that you're authorized to act on the copyright owner's behalf. We'll remove or disable access to content that receives a valid notice.

If your content was removed and you think that was a mistake, you can send a counter-notice to support@sidevine.com with: your signature, your name, address and phone number, a description of the removed content and where it appeared, a statement under penalty of perjury that you believe it was removed by mistake or misidentification, and your consent to the jurisdiction of the federal court for your district and to accept service from the person who sent the original notice. We will restore the content in 10 to 14 business days unless that person tells us they have filed a lawsuit.

We terminate accounts that repeatedly infringe others' rights.

Payments

Boosted visibility for an event is a one-time purchase, charged once at checkout. It is not a subscription and does not renew. A boost moves your event to the top of lists and gives its map pin a lighter look. A boost does not guarantee any number of views, attendees, or results.

A recurring event series is a $10/month subscription that renews automatically each month until you cancel it. By buying a recurring series you authorize us to charge $10 each month until you cancel.

To cancel a recurring series, go to the "Mine" tab and tap "Cancel recurring" on that series. Canceling stops future renewals. Dates already scheduled will still go live (a series can have several weeks of dates generated in advance, and none of those are removed by canceling). Your subscription itself, and its monthly charge, ends at the close of the billing period you already paid for, not the moment you cancel.

If a renewal payment fails, we email you right away, Stripe retries automatically, and new dates are not posted until a payment goes through. If every retry fails, the series is canceled. Dates already posted stay live.

If your account is deleted or banned, we cancel your recurring series.

If we change a recurring price, we will tell you before the change takes effect, and you can cancel before it applies.

Refunds are reviewed case by case. Contact support@sidevine.com and we'll review your request. If a boost purchase is refunded, that boost ends. We do not offer partial refunds for unused time on a recurring subscription unless we decide otherwise.

If you dispute a charge with your bank, we may pause the related listing or account while it is sorted out.

Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store your card number. Prices are in US dollars. Taxes are added where required.

Nothing in this section limits any refund rights you have under the law.

Service availability

The service is provided "as is." We don't guarantee uninterrupted availability, error-free operation, or that any specific feature will remain available. We may change or discontinue features at any time.

Termination

You can stop using Sidevine at any time and request account deletion. We may suspend or terminate access for violations of these terms. If we end your account for breaking these terms, we are not required to refund payments, unless the law requires it. Sections about content, disclaimers, limits of liability, responsibility, and dispute resolution continue after your account ends.

Your responsibility

If a claim is brought against Sidevine because of your content or because you broke these terms, you agree to cover our reasonable costs, including legal fees, to the extent allowed by law.

Links to other sites

Events and listings may link to other websites. We do not control them and are not responsible for them.

Dispute resolution and arbitration

Before filing, each of us agrees to try to resolve the dispute informally for 30 days by emailing support@sidevine.com.

Except for small claims court cases or disputes about intellectual property, you and Sidevine agree to resolve any dispute arising from these terms or your use of Sidevine through binding individual arbitration rather than in court, administered by the American Arbitration Association under its Consumer Arbitration Rules. There is no judge or jury in arbitration, and a court's ability to review an arbitration decision is limited. Arbitration may be conducted by phone or video, or in person near where you live.

You and Sidevine each waive the right to a jury trial and to participate in a class action or class arbitration. Disputes must be brought individually, not combined with anyone else's claim.

You can opt out of this arbitration agreement by emailing support@sidevine.com within 30 days after you first accept these terms or are first notified of this section, whichever is later, stating that you opt out. Opting out doesn't affect any other part of these terms.

These terms, and any dispute between you and Sidevine, are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. If this arbitration section is found unenforceable for a particular dispute, that dispute will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in San Diego County, California, and you consent to jurisdiction there. If any other part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect.

General

These terms are the whole agreement between you and Sidevine about the service. If we do not enforce a part of these terms, we are not giving it up. We may transfer these terms to a successor if Sidevine is sold or merged.
